Concept Electric Sportsbikes
Here is the list of 5 concept sports bikes designed to be propelled by electricity.
1. The rMOTO electric superbike concept

Florida-based Robrady design deserves credit for developing the rMOTO electric superbike concept. The firm has come up this electric-powered sports bike concept using the technology and expertise which it had received from its clients. The company had released the first design sketches of this concept bike on its website in April 2005. The sketch got brilliant reviews and the company approved the project for construction. The prototype was unveiled in January 2006. The company claims that this sports bike concept can touch a maximum speed of 100 mph. The superbike features regenerative braking mechanism which is used in electric cars. This technology recharges the batteries when the brakes are applied. This all-electric superbike concept is powered by electric motor which is fueled by onboard batteries. The rMOTO electric superbike concept is the pioneer in its field leading to the development of several electric superbikes.
2. Electric Sportbike Concept by Keith Torckler
These days many people are doing their bit to safeguard the environment from the harmful greenhouse gases emitted by the cars and bikes. It is believed that the use of cars and bikes powered by alternative sources of energy will reduce the air and sound pollution drastically thus saving the environment from degradation. Keith Torckler is also one such noble soul who has come up with a sport bike concept, which is powered by electricity. Torckler has used electric twin motor set-up that is used by the companies which are making electric bikes used for racing purposes. The design of the bike is sleek and stylish and the mechanical insides of this highly innovative bike are visible from outside. Not much information is available about the technical specifications of this sport bike.
Designed by Eyal Melnick, the Shavit sport motorcycle is a morphing bike powered by electricity. This bike has a sharp and stylish design and the riding position of this sport bike is something to talk about. The riding position is adjustable which means that you can shift from an upright stance which we use while driving at a normal speed to the position which is meant for race tracks by just pushing a button. Besides this, the handlebars, seat height and footpads of this innovative bike are also adjustable. These features allow the user to change the bike from an urban tourer to a sports bike within no time. The fuel tank is not bulky and the chassis and body are minimal. The body is made of lightweight material in order to increase the fuel efficiency.
4. BMW E 100R by designer Miika Mahonen
Designer Miika Mahonen has combined the features of a modern superbike with street bikes to come up with electric-powered BMW E 100R. This powerful bike is powered by an electric engine fueled by batteries. The frame of this bike is lightweight allowing it to deliver superb torque. This bike is completely emission free and it is highly efficient. Mahonen claims that he has designed the bike keeping in mind the needs of the masses and they will be able to buy this low cost sports bike. Though the bike has got a simple design, it looks aggressive and stylish. This bike is regarded by many as one of the best electric sports bike concept unveiled so far.
5. E-Carver Electric Motorcycle Concept from Luca Bar
Luca Bar’s E-Carver electric motorbike concept features a 130/65-16 tire up front while the rear wheel features a 190/55-18 with a motor. With a horizontal riding position, the feet while riding this bike is placed to the rear. The battery pack protects the legs from wind. Luca has used the available technologies to come up with this bike. The difference in the rear and front wheel is glaring raising questions over the handling of this electric bike. The overall design is good and this bike is completely emission free because it is powered by electric motor.
